About this map
Base layers (rivers, forests, roads, towns, castles & priories) come from OpenStreetMap via the Overpass API. They are filtered to the area around Hay-on-Wye and trimmed to features relevant to the novel's setting. Coordinate precision is 0.1 SVG units (≈30m at the equator at the displayed scale).
Project: Celtic YA fantasy series weaving Celtic and Akan mythology. Book 1 — Tying the Knot — is set around Hay-on-Wye and follows three twelve-year-old children who discover they are story-healers. Children cross the England-Wales border daily; the landscape IS the loom.
